Sony PSP is Considered the World's First Hand-Held Video Game System

The Sony PlayStation Portable (PSP) is a handheld gaming console from Sony Computer Entertainment published. The PSP is considered the world's first portable system with an optical disc format used video game was. The device is equipped with gaming-oriented controls such as the PlayStation face buttons equipped, two shoulder buttons, a digital 4-directional pad, the brightness of the screen, music settings and "Home" key to access the system in the main menu.

The device is currentlyavailable in seven colors. The PSP weighs 280 g (with battery) and dimensions of 170 mm x 74 mm x 23 mm. The system has 32 MiB of RAM, and most important 4MiB eDRAM 2MiB which is dedicated to the Graphics Unit. The system CPU contains 16 KiB of two-way set associative instruction cache and data cache memory. The device is capable of the 33 million flat shaded polygons per second with a file of 664 pixels per second rate. The PSP is capable of playing movies on Universal Media Disc (UMD) format and image viewer shows a variety of image formats such as JPEG, bitmap, andPNG.

The unit in the main menu interface consists of a horizontal row of icons, a vertical sequence of sub-icons that show when highlighted. Interestingly enough, no videos can be downloaded via a USB streaming connection to any Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3, which makes them visible then viewed on a TV on the PSP. The device can be connected to a wireless network via Wi-Fi IEEE 802.11b. This PSP allows players to a local network of multi-player game-play and also to createenables them to connect to the Internet.
